Već davno je u historijskoj literaturi vrijeme vladavine bana Kulina postavljeno kao mit koji traje, i koji, nažalost, ostaje samo pojam koji s malo dobre volje može dobiti i svoju historijsku potvrdu. Slika o bosanskom banu Kulinu nastajala je i nastaje u posebnim vremenskim okvirima i uvjetima, sa sličnim ili približnim osnovama iz kojih se može i treba rekonstruirati svaka slika prohujalog vremena i nastojati kritičkom metodom interpretirati Kulinovo vrijeme.
