AUTHOR GUIDELINES
The Journal of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica – Spoznaja (ISSN 3029-3766) is published once annually in electronic format only by the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica. The Journal publishes scholarly contributions from the broader fields of social sciences and humanities, as well as interdisciplinary research consistent with the Journal’s conceptual framework. In addition, it publishes book reviews and critical assessments of professional and academic publications and journals, as well as reports from national and international scholarly and professional conferences.
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica – Spoznaja undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by two distinguished experts and scholars in the relevant field. Following the review process, the scientific, professional, or other scholarly value of the manuscript is determined, along with its formal categorization. Submitted works must be original, unpublished, and represent the author’s individual contribution to a topic within the scope of the Journal.
All submissions are subject to mandatory plagiarism screening using licensed Plagiarism Checker X software. Only manuscripts that receive a satisfactory plagiarism assessment will be forwarded to the peer review process.
The length of research articles should range from a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 24 standard pages (1 standard page = 1,800 characters including spaces), with up to five illustrations permitted. Reviews and critical assessments may not exceed 8 standard pages, while conference reports (national and international) may not exceed 4 pages. Articles exceeding 24 standard pages may be published only with the approval of the Advisory Board.
Book reviews must include the author’s full name, title of the work, publisher, place and year of publication, and total number of pages. Reviews of individual journal issues must state the journal title, volume, year, place of publication, and issue number.
Conference reports must contain the full name of the report author, title, location and date of the conference, the occasion for its organization, the name of the organizer and any partners (organizational, financial, etc.), the structure of the conference (thematic panels, sessions, etc., if applicable), a list of participants with titles of their presentations, and a brief overview of the conference conclusions.
Structure of the Article
The manuscript should be structured as follows:

Abstract in the language of the article (up to 500 words) with 5–10 keywords (placed after the title)

English translation of the title, abstract, and keywords

Main body of the text (introduction, elaborated discussion with subheadings, conclusion/summary)

Abstract/summary in English (up to 2,000 characters)

Bibliography of cited sources and literature
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in MS Word format (version 6.0 or later) and saved as: Surname_Name_Title of Manuscript.
The manuscript should be formatted in Times New Roman, 12-point font, A4 format, single-spaced for the main text, and 10-point font for footnotes placed at the bottom of the page. The title of the manuscript should be written in bold uppercase letters, subheadings in bold lowercase letters, while abstracts, original terms, and foreign-language expressions should be italicized.
Illustrations must be clear and high-resolution, in black-and-white or color. Submissions may be sent electronically via e-mail or delivered on a digital storage medium.
Manuscripts may be submitted throughout the calendar year. Papers that receive a positive peer-review evaluation will be published in Spoznaja. Submitted manuscripts will not be returned.
A copy of the manuscript accompanied by a signed Proofreading Statement must be sent to: casopis.spoznaja@unze.ba, with the indication “For the Journal Spoznaja.”
Spoznaja operates in accordance with an open-access policy (Open Access Journal), meaning that all content is freely available without charge. Authors are also permitted to deposit the final PDF version of their article in institutional repositories or non-commercial databases (e.g., Academia.edu, ResearchGate, etc.).
The Journal uses the Harvard citation style; detailed guidelines are provided in the appendix.
NOTE: Submissions (articles, reviews, conference reports) that do not comply with the established formal and technical requirements will not be accepted nor forwarded to the peer review process.
